Applications and Permits

This page contains all the applications and permits for Planning and Zoning and Building/Construction. All permits are reviewed before being approved by staff or by the appropriate committee/commission or Village Board. All applications that require further approval are reviewed by staff, then a meeting between staff and the applicant is scheduled. It is after the meeting between staff and the applicant that the permit application is will be submitted to the appropriate committee/commission for approval or recommendation to the Village Board. All applications must ALL required components before the application can be reviewed and submitted to the appropriate committee/commission for approval or recommendation. Certificate of Occupancy Permit

These applications must be filled out for ALL new businesses and Multi-family projects prior to opening for business in the Village of Weston. These applications should also be filled out for all new commercial tenants or a use change to an existing building. The information collect will also be made public on the Business Directory for commercial occupancy only.

Comprehensive Plan Amendment
Following Village staff review and the preparation of a staff recommendation, plan amendment applications will be forwarded to the Village of Weston Plan Commission for a public hearing in late Summer. Following Plan Commission's consideration and recommendation, the Village Board will consider the amendments. Final action by the Village Board on amendments typically occurs in October or November following a 30-day public review period, public hearing on the proposed amendments to the comprehensive plan and adoption of the amended comprehensive plan by ordinance.

The deadline for Comprehensive Plan Map and Text amendment applications is July 15th.

While a change to the Comprehensive Plan Future Land Use Map may support future zoning change,  it does not change the Village's Official Zoning Map. Applicants must pursue amendments to the zoning map through the rezone request process.

Failure to obtain a permit prior to commencement of work shall result in a fine equal to that of the twice the permit plus an addition $50 per Section 14.101.11 of the Municipal Code. ((Permit Fee (x2) + $50) = FINE)
