Refuse & Recycling Update

By now, all single-family homes up to 4-unit apartments on a single property should have received their new Harter’s Fox Valley Disposal Carts. If you did not receive your new Harter’s carts, please contact our office right away.

Next week, Monday through Wednesday, Waste Management will be finishing emptying and taking the last of their Waste Management garbage carts that are out at the roadside. This will be done via the garbage truck coming through to empty the carts, followed by a truck and trailer collecting the carts.

Those who are serviced on Thursdays and Fridays will see their first collection dates next Friday (Jan. 2^nd) and Saturday (Jan. 3^rd).

The following is the schedule of events to occur next week (December 29^th – January 3^rd).

CHANGES TO POSTMARKS MAY AFFECT TAXES!

Residents who mail tax payments and rely on a timely postmark should be aware of a significant change by the USPS effective December 24, 2025.

The postmark will no longer reflect the date you dropped off your mail. Your envelope may be dated one or two days later, or even more during weekends and holidays.

If your mailing requires a specific postmark date, plan to:

- Send items early. Do not rely on same-day or even next-day postmarks.
- Use in-person delivery whenever possible for tax payments.
- Be cautious about weekend and holiday mailing, when delays are most pronounced.

Snow removal tip...When clearing your driveway, avoid blowing or shoveling snow onto the roadway or curb area. Instead, try to disperse the snow across your front yard.

When our snow plows come through, any excess snow left on the road or piled by the curb will get pushed right back on your driveway or your neighbors driveway.

A tip to prevent a second shovel is to make a collection pocket or open area near the edge of your property. This gives the a spot for the snow to go reducing the amount that ends up back in your driveway.
